CAD Technician Coordinator (Heavy Civil Construction Project)

Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services ( . We are currently looking for a CAD Technician Coordinator to join our team for a Heavy Civil Construction Project in Norfolk, Virginia, USA.

-Project:   tunnel/highway/structure

-Estimated duration of the position: 12 months - In general, when the project ends, we try to place the employee in other projects to give him/her continuity.

-Summary: responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining detailed CAD designs and models for civil infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, and utilities.

-Responsibilities:

• Create and modify 2D and 3D CAD designs and models using Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD 3D, demonstrating strong expertise.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to ensure accurate and timely completion of design deliverables.
• Develop and maintain detailed CAD standards, templates, and libraries.
• Coordinate with survey teams to ensure accurate data integration and mapping.
• Assist in preparing construction documents, including plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy and precision of CAD designs.

-Working Hours:  Monday to Friday: 40 hours weekly.

-Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering, Topography, Geomatics or similar.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience as a CAD Technician in highway/bridge/heavy civil construction projects or similar.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD 2D and 3D, and other relevant CAD software.
• Strong expertise required (MicroStation is a plus).
• Possess a strong understanding of civil engineering principles, including surveying, grading, and drainage.
• Exhibit excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet project deadlines.
• Proven ability to coordinate and lead multidisciplinary CAD teams, ensuring alignment with project goals, technical standards, and delivery timelines.
