Job Summary
The Loader/Chocker is responsible for safely loading, securing, and unloading vehicles within railcar carriers for transportation. This role requires close attention to safety, accuracy in vehicle placement, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic, outdoor environment aligned with train schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and secure vehicles within railcar carriers in accordance with safety and operational standards.
- Place and remove wheel chocks and secure vehicles using straps as required.
- Precisely position automobiles within carriers to ensure safe transport.
- Remove chocks and straps upon arrival at destination terminals.
- Follow all safety protocols and consistently wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Take personal responsibility for maintaining a safe work environment.
- Complete written assignment sheets and sign off on completed work using printed forms.
- Read, interpret, and follow operational manuals and procedures.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Frequent use of hands for handling, gripping, and reaching.
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required.
- Ability to lift up to 40lb regularly and up to 80lb occasionally.
Work Environment
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions.
- Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
- Moderate noise levels in the work environment.
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions.
Schedule & Availability
- Must be flexible to accommodate train schedules, including odd hours, split shifts, nights, and weekends.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Standard shift: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM , 5–6 days per week , with every weekend required and 1–2 days off during the week .

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Woodbridge, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
