Job Title: Entry Level Structured Cabling Data Center Technician
Job Description
Join our dynamic team at a leading data center in Leesburg, Virginia, where you will work standard Monday to Friday business hours. As a Technician, you will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware and cabling systems.
Responsibilities
- Install/remove servers, routers, power supplies, and related hardware
- Support rack/stack work, labeling, documentation, and cabling pathways
- Install, terminate, and test Cat6 and fiber optic cabling
- Perform basic hardware upgrades and OS installs
- Assist with troubleshooting hardware, cabling, and basic network issues
- Maintain accurate records and asset labeling
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and test equipment
Essential Skills
- 0-2 years experience for Tech 1 level; 5+ years for Tech 2 level.
- Experience with installation, maintenance, and decommissioning in data centers.
- Proficiency in working with copper and fiber optic cabling, routers, and switches.
- Skill in rack and stack, Cat6 pulling cable, and structured cabling.
- Experience with termination testing, patch panel, fiber polishing, and fusion splicing.
- Must have ground-up construction data center experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Strong communication, teamwork, and time management skills.
- Basic understanding of data center systems, including servers, SANs, and network technologies.
- Foundational knowledge of structured cabling systems, including copper and fiber media.
- Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings, floor plans, and schematics.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other productivity tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Work Environment
This role operates primarily in data center and field environments and may require work during nonstandard hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on customer needs. Standard PPE is required (provided by the company), and composite boots are a must.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Leesburg, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $35.00/hr.
