Forklift operator/ material handler
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Forklift Operator/Material Handler to join our dynamic team in Richmond, VA. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and distribution processes. Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Move materials to and from storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with stock counts.
- Inspect equipment before and after use to ensure safety and functionality.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production and shipping deadlines.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Previous experience as a forklift operator or material handler is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical tasks.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Basic computer skills for inventory management.
