Machinist / Industrial Mechanic Trainee
American GFM Corporation is seeking motivated individuals to join our Machinist / Industrial Mechanic Training Program . This program is designed to develop highly skilled craftsmen capable of producing precision components for advanced industrial machinery.
What You Will Learn
Successful candidates will receive hands-on training to:
- Read blueprints and routed instructions to determine scope of work
- Set up and operate precision metalworking equipment such as mills, lathes, and grinders
- Use precision measuring tools to ensure dimensional accuracy within tight tolerances
- Utilize modern computer technology and software to design and program parts using CAD/CAM systems
- Apply problem-solving skills in a real-world industrial environment
Position Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic math and mechanical aptitude
- Strong attention to detail and desire to produce high-quality precision work
- Ability to pass a pre-employment mechanical aptitude test (written and practical)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening

Compensation and Advancement
American GFM offers a competitive wage and benefits package:
- Starting wage of $17.50 per hour
- $0.50 wage increase every 90 days during the 18-month training program, contingent on meeting progress goals
- Opportunities for advancement upon successful completion of the program
The instructor leading the program began as a machinist apprentice in 1995 and spent nearly three decades operating a wide variety of machine tools. Trainees benefit from direct mentorship from someone with extensive real-world shop experience.
