Residential Service Electrician

Location: Lorton, VA (In-Office)

GT Electric Service provides residential electrical service to homeowners across Northern Virginia, with a focus on safety, professionalism, and doing the job right. We support our electricians with proper staffing, clear processes, and leadership that understands the trade, so you can focus on quality work and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot residential electrical systems and safety issues
• Perform code-compliant repairs and upgrades, including panels, wiring, devices, lighting, EV chargers, generators, and more
• Conduct full system evaluations and clearly explain findings to homeowners
• Present options and upfront pricing so customers can make informed decisions
• Use a tablet/service app to document work, create options, and close out jobs
  

Requirements

• 3 or more years of residential service electrical experience preferred
• Strong troubleshooting skills and pride in quality workmanship
• Professional communication and customer-focused mindset
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Comfortable using mobile devices and service software
• Journeyman license preferred, not required
  

Pay and Benefits

• Full-time, W-2 employment.
• Pay: $24 to $40 per hour + commission (based on experience/performance)

Work Environment

• Field-based role working in occupied residential homes
• Work performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in attics, crawl spaces, and basements
• Regular use of ladders, hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and service vehicles
• Physical demands include lifting and carrying materials and equipment (up to 50 lbs; more with assistance)
• Use of a tablet or mobile device for job documentation and communication
• Adherence to all safety protocols, electrical codes, and company standards
• Professional appearance and conduct are required at all times
