Deputy Project Manager
The Deputy Project Manager (DPM) supports the Project Manager in leading all aspects of contract performance and provides direct oversight of day-to-day operations when delegated. This role requires strong coordination skills, knowledge of federal contracting, and the ability to manage staff and deliverables effectively
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Manager in overseeing the execution of all contract requirements.
- Support the management of deliverables, including outreach reports, subcontracting reports, communications, and staffing updates.
- Oversee staff performance, provide daily task direction, and ensure operational continuity.
- Monitor program risks, track issues, and assist in developing corrective action plans.
- Contribute to transition-in and transition-out planning, ensuring smooth handover of responsibilities.
- Help maintain accurate staffing plans, track vacancies, and support recruitment and onboarding efforts.
- Support the PM in conducting progress reviews, quality control checks, and compliance with all PWS requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in program/project management, operations, or supervisory roles.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to supervise and mentor staff.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with government stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Ability to step into the Project Manager’s role and exercise full authority when required.
