DevOps Engineer

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, 4+ years DevOps engineering in enterprise environments, 3+ years infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet), 1-2 years in a Lead role
Certifications: AWS DevOps Professional, Azure DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Ansible
Position Summary
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks supporting IRS Criminal Investigation's digital forensics platform. Drive infrastructure-as-code initiatives while ensuring compliance with federal security requirements.
Education & Certifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- DevOps certifications preferred: AWS DevOps Professional, Azure DevOps Engineer
- Container orchestration certifications (Kubernetes, Docker) highly valued
- Infrastructure automation certifications (Terraform, Ansible) beneficial
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement automated CI/CD pipelines
- Develop infrastructure-as-code solutions for Nutanix and cloud environments
- Create automated testing and deployment frameworks
- Implement container orchestration and microservices architecture
- Develop monitoring and alerting automation
- Support legacy code migration to modern API frameworks
Required Experience
- 4+ years DevOps engineering in enterprise environments
- 3+ years infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet)
- Strong scripting and programming skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash)
- Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Background in government or regulated industry DevOps practices
- Proven experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)
- Minimum of 2+ years with previous or current experience with the IRS is required
