Job Summary
We are seeking a licensed behavioral health professional to serve as Program Director / Clinical Supervisor for an Adult Substance Use Partial Hospitalization Program (ASAM Level 2.5) in Richmond, VA.
This leadership role oversees daily operations, provides clinical supervision, ensures Medicaid and DBHDS compliance, and supports high-quality substance use treatment services.
Responsibilities
Program Leadership
- Oversee daily operations of Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
- Ensure compliance with Virginia DBHDS and Medicaid (DMAS) regulations
- Maintain appropriate staff-to-client ratios
- Lead team meetings and quality improvement initiatives
Clinical Supervision
- Provide weekly documented supervision to therapists and QMHPs
- Review and approve assessments and treatment plans
- Conduct chart audits to ensure medical necessity compliance
- Monitor documentation timeliness and accuracy
Direct Clinical Services
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments
- Develop individualized treatment plans
- Facilitate group and individual therapy sessions
- Support crisis intervention as needed
- Collaborate with RN and Medical Director
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Virginia license (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Licensed Clinical Psychologist)
- Minimum 2 years of behavioral health experience
- Experience in substance use treatment preferred
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Knowledge of ASAM criteria and Medicaid documentation standards

- Knowledge of ASAM Level 2.5 standards
- Ability to prepare for audits and licensing reviews
- Strong communication and organizational skills
License/Certification Required:
- Virginia Clinical License (Required)
