About the Role:
The Shop Supervisor in the Rental and Leasing Services industry plays a critical role in overseeing daily operations within the equipment rental shop to ensure efficient service delivery and customer satisfaction. This position is responsible for managing the maintenance, repair, and preparation of rental equipment, guaranteeing that all items meet safety and quality standards before being leased to clients. The Shop Supervisor leads a team of technicians and support staff, coordinating schedules, training, and performance to maintain high productivity and adherence to company policies. Additionally, the role involves inventory management, including ordering parts and supplies, tracking equipment usage, and minimizing downtime through proactive maintenance strategies. Ultimately, the Shop Supervisor ensures that the shop operates smoothly, supports business objectives, and upholds the company’s reputation for reliability and service excellence.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and safety regulations related to equipment operation.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in equipment maintenance or repair, preferably within the rental or leasing industry.
- Higher education, technical certification or vocational training in equipment maintenance, mechanics, or a related field.
- Experience with inventory management systems and maintenance tracking software.
- Demonstrated ability to train and develop technical staff.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the shop team, including technicians and maintenance staff.
- Ensure all equipment is inspected, maintained, and repaired according to safety and quality standards before dispatch.
- Manage inventory of parts, tools, and supplies, placing orders as necessary to avoid operational delays.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to maximize equipment availability and minimize downtime.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate shop personnel to promote skill development and adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and equipment usage for reporting and compliance purposes.
- Provide outstanding customer service and handle customer complaints in a professional manner.
