About the Role:

As a Lifeguard, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all patrons at our aquatic facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to monitor swimming activities, enforce safety rules, and respond to emergencies with swift and effective action. You will also be responsible for providing swim instruction to individuals of varying skill levels, fostering a safe and enjoyable environment for all. In addition to your lifesaving duties, you will engage in regular training sessions to maintain your CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications. Ultimately, your vigilance and proactive approach will contribute to a positive experience for all visitors while minimizing risks associated with aquatic activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Ability to swim proficiently and demonstrate strong swimming skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in swim instruction or coaching.
• Previous lifeguarding experience in a similar environment.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor pool activities to ensure the safety of all swimmers and enforce facility rules.
• Perform rescues and administer first aid as necessary in emergency situations.
• Provide swim instruction and guidance to individuals and groups of varying skill levels.
• Conduct regular safety checks and maintain cleanliness and order in the pool area.
• Participate in ongoing training and drills to stay current with lifesaving techniques and certifications.

Skills:

The required skills of CPR/AED and First Aid are essential for responding effectively to emergencies, ensuring that you can provide immediate care when needed. Your swimming skills will be utilized daily as you demonstrate techniques to patrons and perform rescues if necessary. Teamwork is vital in this role, as you will collaborate with fellow lifeguards and staff to maintain a safe environment. Familiarity with the American Red Cross guidelines will enhance your ability to enforce safety protocols and conduct training sessions. Additionally, proficiency in Adobe Photoshop can be beneficial for creating engaging promotional materials that highlight swim programs and safety initiatives.
