We are looking for a working leader eager to coach a team and improve how the work gets done at a fast-growing innovation leader in construction.

As Production Team Leader – Tech Building , you will own the team’s schedules, workflows, throughput, and quality across the build of our scanners, SiteSensors, card readers, and scan stations. You will coordinate closely with Customer Success, Customer Logistics, and Field Tech to make sure the right equipment is built, tested, and shipped on time, every time.

If you are a self-starting team player who puts the customer and internal stakeholders at the center of every decision, covers every detail, and wants to be part of a company that’s relentlessly pushing to transform how the world is built, you will flourish with Sitemetric.

About Sitemetric

At Sitemetric, we turn technology into services that transform how the world is built.

This enables our customers to lead the change in critical areas of construction operations: workforce, safety, security, reporting, communications, logistics, and more.

We work closely with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and construction workers to customize offerings to their needs, including digital onboarding, smart badging, real-time location systems, messaging and mass texting, integrated turnstiles, real-time reporting, emergency mustering, and more.

We currently serve as trusted partner to a growing number of the US’s largest, most forward-looking owners and contractors, working with them to ensure what we offer meets their evolving needs, with thousands of companies and workers already on the Sitemetric platform. Together, we are leading the change in how the world is built.

Job Description

As a Production Team Leader – Tech Building, you will lead a team of Production Specialists responsible for building our scanners, SiteSensors, and card readers. You will own the production schedule, set workflows and standards, coach teammates on the floor, and report on throughput and quality to the VP of Customer Success.

In the bigger picture, you will be responsible for cultivating relationships with customers and internal stakeholders and delivering the highest-quality equipment across construction environments that are continually changing, dynamic, and uncertain. This requires an obsessive commitment to understanding customers’ and colleagues’ values, immediate and evolving needs, and preferences, to enable them to maximize success on each project and across their broader project portfolio and enterprise.

Overall, the role demands drive, grit, perseverance, and an abundance mindset to navigate and excel in the perpetually challenging environments where we and our customers operate.

Key Responsibilities

This position involves the following responsibilities.

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Team coaching: Lead, coach, and develop a team of Production Specialists across assembly, provisioning, and quality control
  • Daily stand-ups: Run daily stand-ups, assign work, and provide hands-on guidance on the production floor
  • Performance development: Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance check-ins, and skills development with each team member
  • Hiring & onboarding: Partner with HR and the VP of Customer Success on hiring, onboarding, and training new Production Specialists
  • Team culture: Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and pride in workmanship

Schedule & Workflow Management

  • Production scheduling: Own the team’s daily, weekly, and monthly production schedule to meet customer ship dates
  • Work sequencing: Sequence and prioritize work across SiteSensors, card readers, scan stations, and other equipment builds
  • Capacity planning: Balance staffing and capacity against the incoming order pipeline from Customer Success and Field Tech
  • Real-time adjustments: Adjust schedules in real time when priorities shift, parts arrive late, or jobsite demand changes
  • Standard operating procedures: Establish and maintain SOPs for each major build workflow

Production Operations & Inventory

  • Inventory oversight: Oversee EDI (Every Day Inventory) checks and ensure materials are on hand to meet the build schedule
  • Logistics coordination: Coordinate with logistics on incoming components and outgoing equipment to jobsites
  • Metrics & reporting: Track production throughput, work-in-progress, and on-time delivery; report metrics weekly to the VP of Customer Success
  • Continuous improvement: Identify bottlenecks and lead continuous-improvement efforts to increase output and reduce rework
  • Floor management: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production floor

Quality Control & Provisioning

  • Quality ownership: Own end-to-end quality for everything that ships out of Manassas — assembly, provisioning, sealing, and labeling
  • Sign-off: Spot-check work in process and final equipment; sign off on units before they leave the facility
  • Corrective action: Investigate quality issues reported from the field and drive corrective actions back into the build process
  • Provisioning records: Keep provisioning records and serial-number tracking accurate and up to date

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Internal point of contact: Serve as the primary production point of contact for Customer Success, Customer Logistics, and Field Tech
  • Proactive communication: Communicate proactively about ship-date risk, capacity changes, and quality concerns
  • Field feedback loop: Partner with Field Tech leadership to incorporate field feedback into build standards
  • Leadership reviews: Represent the production team in internal reviews with the VP of Customer Success and broader leadership

Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years in a hands-on production, assembly, light-manufacturing, or fulfillment environment
  • 1+ year of direct people management or formal team-lead experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage daily schedules, balance workloads, and hit delivery deadlines
  • Working understanding of basic electricity, wiring, soldering, and small-equipment assembly
  • Comfort with routers, modems, iPads, and other connected hardware used in our builds
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills across teams and levels of the organization
  • Track record of coaching teammates and holding a high quality bar without micromanaging
  • Have a positive attitude and be a team player who’s looking to grow and contribute
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; trade certification, associate’s, or bachelor’s degree a plus

Work Environment

  • Onsite role based at our Manassas, VA facility — this position is not remote
  • Facility-based role requiring regular standing, walking, and handling of materials
  • May have to lift boxes up to 30 lbs
  • Standard production hours with flexibility required during peak build cycles

Perks & Benefits

As part of the Sitemetric team, you'll receive:

  • Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications
