Senior Helpers - Virginia Beach is currently seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to work in Virginia Beach. - Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and oral care.
- Mobility Assistance: Help patients move safely around their environment, including transferring between beds and wheelchairs, repositioning to prevent bedsores, and assisting with range-of-motion exercises.
- Nutritional Support: Provide meal assistance, including feeding patients who need help, preparing meal trays, monitoring dietary needs, and recording food and fluid intake.
- Emotional Support: Offer comfort, empathy, and companionship to patients, supporting their emotional well-being and helping to reduce feelings of isolation or anxiety.
- Hygiene & Environment: Maintain cleanliness in client rooms, change linens, and ensure that the care environment is safe, organized, and free from hazards.
- Infection Control: Follow established protocols for infection prevention, including hand hygiene, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Documentation: Accurately document care provided, observations of patient condition, and any incidents or unusual occurrences.
- High school diploma or equivalent required and must be 18 years or older.
- Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant training program.
- Active CNA certification in good standing with Virginia Department of Health registry.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification.
- You must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and vehicle insurance.
- You must have an operational cell phone. Cell phones are used to log in and out of shifts and to see care plan.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English; bilingual abilities are a plus. Ability to hear.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to compassionate care.
- Physical ability to lift, move, and assist patients (not a dead lift); stand and walk for extended periods; and perform tasks that may require bending, stooping, or kneeling.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and respond to patient needs with a sense of urgency.
- Must pass a background check and health screenings as required by employer and Virginia Department of Health regulations. Must pass Department of Motor Vehicles check and comply with random drug testing.
