Fixed Assets Accountant
Kforce has a client in McLean, VA that is seeking a Fixed Assets Accountant. Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage the fixed asset subledger, including asset additions, transfers, and disposals
- Calculate and record depreciation and amortization in accordance with company policy and accounting standards
- Prepare and post journal entries related to fixed assets during month-end and year-end close
- Perform account reconciliations for fixed asset and depreciation accounts
- Support capital expenditure (CAPEX) reporting, including budgeting vs. actuals analysis
- Prepare fixed asset schedules and reports for financial reporting and management review
- Assist with cash flow reporting related to capital spending
- Respond to internal and external audit requests, providing supporting documentation as needed
- Support inventory and physical asset counts and reconcile results to accounting records
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and applicable regulations
- Assist with process improvements and documentation related to fixed assets accounting
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience in fixed assets accounting or general accounting with fixed asset exposure
- Strong understanding of capitalization, depreciation, and asset lifecycle accounting
- Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
