Job Summary: The Trenching Operator is responsible for operating trenching machinery to dig trenches for utilities, pipelines, and other underground installations.
Qualifications:
- Expertise in operating trenching machinery. This includes understanding the mechanics and functions of the equipment.
- Strong knowledge of safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. This includes the ability to identify and mitigate potential hazards
- Skills in troubleshooting and performing maintenance on Trenching Equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges that arise during drilling operations and ensure project continuity
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate Trenching Machinery: Use equipment like trenchers to dig precise trenches according to project specifications.
- Site Preparation: Prepare job sites for trenching operations, including marking and measuring areas to be trenched.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Trench Maintenance: Ensure trenches are properly maintained and safe for subsequent installation work.
- Site Cleanup: Perform cleanup tasks after trenching operations to restore the site to its original or improved condition.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Demonstrate strong mechanical skills to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other construction team members to coordinate tasks and ensure project timelines are met
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to attend company-provided training
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
- Ability to travel to job sites as needed
- Must pass a background check, drug test, and motor vehicle check
