Position Description: A beloved sports bar and lounge, Joe Theismann’s Restaurant celebrates Washington D.C.’s two-time pro bowler, and legendary NFL quarterback, Joe Theismann. Catch all the game-day action at our 40-seat bar outfitted with 11 TVs, enjoy our scratch-menu in our refreshed dining room or plan your next sport-themed gathering in our memorabilia-filled private event space.Provides leadership at the restaurant level. Directs and supports the management team and hourly team members to consistently execute Alexandria Restaurant Partners (ARP) quality standards, operating systems, procedures, principles, values, mission, core values, and culture. Sets the example for the restaurant. Supervises all restaurant-level managers, chefs, and hourly team members.
Our locations include Ada’s on the River, Barca Pier & Wine Bar, Café Tu Tu Tango, Mia’s Italian Kitchen, Palette 22, Theismann’s, The Royal, and Vola’s Dockside Grill & Hi-Tide Lounge. Position Responsibilities: People & LeadershipDevelop an hourly talent pipeline by following career development plans that foster growth and internal mobility.
Support people processes like manager meetings, one-on-ones, and progressive discipline.
Foster a culture of celebration and appreciation.
Hire and identify talent and interview potential candidates.
Operations
Execute ARP’s operations vision and core principles.
Set and enhance operational standards and processes.
Manager day-to-day fires such as facility, people, and equipment.
Assess and monitor repair and maintenance. Seeks DO support when necessary.
Ensure food and beverage quality and consistency.
Monitors and ensures consistency in training and development. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Qualifications - Must have 3 to 5 years of restaurant management experience in full-service, high-volume restaurants.
Must have a “the answer is yes, what’s the question” mentality.
Provides evidence of strong leadership and ability to lead high-performing teams.
Demonstrates ability to obtain results for FOH operations consistently.High-level organizational skills with multi-task capabilities.
Adaptable, able to change priorities and manage workloads with minimal direction.
Demonstrates ability to be proactive versus reactive.
Computer proficiency with a strong knowledge of Microsoft platforms, OpenTable, HotSchedules, and Restaurant365.Expert -level follow-through skills.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Dependable, reliable, and highly motivated.
