Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1800-$1840
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: September 8, 2025
• End Date: December 8, 2025
• Healthcare Setting: Adult Respiratory Therapy – Hospital
• Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), every other weekend required
• Alternative Shift: 4x12-hour shifts available by request
• Hours per Week: 36
• On-Site Position
• Location: Roanoke, VA 24014

Registered Respiratory Therapist Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent critical care experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• At least 1 year of travel respiratory therapy experience required
• Active RRT credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care
• Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Virginia State Board of Medicine or eligible for temporary authorization
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Epic EMR charting experience preferred
• Proficient in mechanical and non-invasive ventilation, nitric oxide delivery, and equipment such as Servo I, V60, Nitric, 3100A/B, Jet
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Willingness to work at least one holiday during assignment (two during winter holidays)
• Applicants must reside more than 100 miles from the Roanoke hospital facility

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality respiratory care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Manage ventilators and provide advanced airway management, including ventilator liberation and troubleshooting
• Participate in rapid response and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Perform ABG interpretation, set up and manage aerosol therapies, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and nitric oxide therapy
• Support patients in the Emergency Department, ICU, and other critical care units
• Document care accurately using the Epic EMR system
• Adhere to hospital protocols and participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives
