Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Onsite in Richmond, VA
Job Type: Contract to hire
Pay Rate: $40-50/hour
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting and/or industry)
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, or similar)
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth setting
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- CPA or CPA-track
- Background in public accounting
- Experience in a private equity–backed company
- Exposure to multi-entity or multi-brand environments
Job Description
The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in supporting the company’s financial operations during a period of accelerated growth and increasing complexity. This role is hands-on, with responsibility across month-end close, financial reporting, and process improvement. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytically strong, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Notes:
- Has a staff accountant, needs a more senior individual
- Cash reconciliations, payroll, accruals
- Debt, interest (nice to have)
- Peoplesoft experience isn't required
- No oversight responsibilities
- Reports to accounting manager
- CPA is nice to have, public accounting is ideal, some years in audit
- Revenue size to 500 million to 1 billion
- Contract to hire, get someone in to protect his team
