Thompson Greenspon, a well-established CPA firm in Fairfax, Virginia, is looking for talented Tax Staff Accountants to join our dynamic team.

As a Tax Staff Accountant, youll play a key role in delivering high-quality tax services to our diverse client base. Youll work with experienced professionals in a supportive, collaborative environment while growing your skills and advancing your career. We offer a hybrid work environment, requiring three in-office days a week in our Fairfax office.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing federal and multistate tax returns for individuals, partnerships, C corporations, S corporations, nonprofits, and trust and estates
• Identifying tax planning opportunities and conducting research to support client needs
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships as a primary point of contact
• Managing multiple client engagements simultaneously and meeting deadlines efficiently
• Collaborating with team members to ensure project status is communicated effectively
• Delivering high-quality work while staying mindful of time budgets

Qualified candidates will have:

• Recent public accounting experience in a CPA firm
• A Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting
• Completion of 150 credit hours OR plans to meet CPA eligibility requirements
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Solid communication skills, both written and verbal
• A proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-volume environment
• An active PTIN, or the ability to obtain one prior to the start date
