Manager of Provider Compensation - Healthcare Leadership Role

We are seeking an experienced Manager of Provider Compensation to lead our compensation team in managing comprehensive compensation functions for hospital providers across our healthcare system. This strategic leadership position offers the opportunity to design, implement, and oversee physician compensation programs while ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting organizational objectives. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a high-performing provider compensation team responsible for all physician and provider compensation functions
  • Design, implement, and administer physician compensation models aligned with industry best practices and organizational strategic goals
  • Ensure strict compliance with federal and state healthcare regulations, including Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Statute requirements
  • Oversee accurate calculation of incentive-based pay structures, including RVU-based, quality-based, and value-based compensation models
  • Conduct compensation modeling and financial analyses with comprehensive understanding of Fair Market Value (FMV) principles
  • Collaborate with finance, legal, compliance, human resources, payroll, and recruitment teams to support integrated compensation strategies
  • Direct regular market analyses, compensation benchmarking, and annual survey submissions using industry-standard data
  • Perform periodic compensation reviews to ensure fairness, equity, and competitive positioning
  • Develop and implement compensation policies, procedures, and programs that enhance provider engagement and satisfaction
  • Oversee team of compensation analysts to ensure data integrity, precise calculations, and technology-supported processes
  • Address and resolve provider compensation concerns with professionalism and expertise
  • Develop compensation strategies that support provider retention, productivity, and quality outcomes

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of experience in a provider compensation leadership position within a healthcare setting
  • Proven experience designing physician compensation plans and managing complex compensation programs for provider groups
  • Demonstrated expertise working with industry benchmarking resources (MGMA, AMGA, Sullivan Cotter, or similar)
  • Experience performing compensation valuations and monitoring effectiveness of compensation practices
  • Track record leading teams in evaluating business models, performance metrics, and developing KPIs focused on financial and clinical utilization
  • Comprehensive understanding of physician compensation structures, contract negotiations, and healthcare compliance regulations
  • Deep knowledge of Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and Fair Market Value principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to engage effectively with providers, executives, and stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve payment cycle issues
  • Exceptional attention to detail with ability to execute work with accuracy and meticulousness
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience motivating and developing team members
  • Excellent project management and strategic planning skills
  • Proficiency in compensation modeling tools and healthcare technology systems
  • Knowledge of training methodologies with ability to develop and deliver compensation education materials
  • Proactive, self-motivated approach with ability to work independently and collaboratively
