At 7:00 a.m., you step onto the floor ready to stabilize and improve our hot-forging flow. You’ll set up and program robots and loading/unloading devices, verify tooling is right for the job, and walk the line to confirm mechanical systems, material handling, and part deformation are behaving as expected. Between production runs, you’ll dive into prints and specs, analyze data trends, and coach teammates so the team consistently meets customer expectations and Amsted Rail standards.

- Interpret job orders, blueprints, and specifications to drive correct tool selection and setup.

- Collaborate with operators, maintenance, and engineering for training, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
- Author clear work instructions and process plans; build, organize, and catalog training content.
- Deliver hands-on operator training, including work instructions and real-time troubleshooting.
- Use company systems to record and analyze data, spotting trends, issues, and results.
- Assist with changeovers, attachments for various lines/cells, and tooling removal.
- Execute preventive maintenance tasks to maintain equipment health.
- Operate machinery as needed to support production and validation activities.
Your toolkit
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Comfort with shared file systems and cloud storage (OneDrive, SharePoint) and document version control.

- Comfort standing and moving throughout the department and shift.
- Willingness to wear employer-provided PPE required by the department.
