City Planning Associate (Current Planning)
- Provides guidance and support to staff and the public on the continuing efforts to improve the application and approval process, including improvement to existing and new technology; provides staff and commission support by coordinating the processing of land use applications including preparing legal advertisements, notifying the public, reviewing and posting supporting documentation, and coordinating application review with other agencies; provides land use information to developers, builders, engineers, local and state agencies; assists the public with land use regulations, policies and procedures.Â
- Develops Commission/meeting agendas, coordinates presentation materials, meeting recordings and broadcasts, and other necessary activities required by public meetings. Â
- Must be able to review land use applications for completeness and compliance with City Code and Zoning Ordinance requirements. Â
- Must be able to organize information and materials; identify any missing or conflicting information; and communicate complex information effectively, clearly and accurately, both verbally and in writing. Â
- Prior experience in zoning or zoning plan review is a plus. Â
- Experience with running meetings and public speaking. Â
- Must be able to multi-task and have the ability to coordinate multiple projects and reviews concurrently. Â
- Department's Granicus coordinator and trainer.
- Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes, relevant planning experience.Â
- Level of knowledge equivalent to four years of bachelors degree or equivalent in planning, public administration, urban studies or related field.Â
- Experience may substitute for education requirements.
- Valid Driver's License may be required, depending on assignment.Â
- M-F, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, 40 hours per week ½ hour lunchÂ
