Dishwasher / Kitchen Steward

DBS is currently seeking hardworking and dependable individuals for the role of Dishwasher / Kitchen Steward. In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and dishwashing areas, ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and cooking appliances are clean and sanitized. This role is essential for keeping the kitchen running smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently wash, dry, and store dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans using commercial dishwashing equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area and kitchen facilities.
• Assist in food preparation by washing and cutting vegetables as needed.
• Remove trash and recyclables from the kitchen area regularly.
• Follow food safety and sanitation protocols to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
• Support kitchen staff with additional tasks as needed to facilitate a smooth workflow.
• Participate in training sessions and safety meetings as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Previous experience in a kitchen setting as a dishwasher or kitchen steward is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive attitude.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
