Maintenance Technician

We are currently hiring for a Maintenance Technician to work for a reputable company in the plastics manufacturing space. Qualified candidates will have industrial maintenance experience working with plastics. This is a direct placement with the company and they offer great benefites and competitive pay!

Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing emergency and scheduled maintenance activities on company facilities and equipment, including injection molding machines, dryers, robots, chillers, and forklifts. The role involves maintaining systems and equipment by restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty components or parts, ensuring all equipment is fully operational and safe working conditions are maintained.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures in compliance with legal codes and regulations.
• Coordinate with vendor contractors as required.
• Submit requests for equipment needed.
• Perform non-planned maintenance on production machinery.
• Carry out planned maintenance, including preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
• Assist in the modification of existing equipment and the installation of new manufacturing equipment.
• Perform basic troubleshooting on manufacturing equipment.
• Fabricate auxiliary equipment and processing aids.
• Support safety and cost savings programs by serving on safety committees and teams, and suggesting cost reductions in production operations.
• Record information as required by the company’s work order system.
• Instruct other employees in the operation and function of production machines.
• Assist other mechanics and production employees in repair tasks as needed.
• Assist in mold hanging when requested.
• Report conditions requiring maintenance attention or corrective action to the supervisor.
• Assist in plant housekeeping.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

This is a Permanent position based out of Winchester, VA.

The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $70720.00/yr.
