Job Description

Join our team as an Electrician at either the Charlottesville UVA Hotel & Conference Center or Lynchburg sites. This position offers multiple opportunities with a flexible schedule from Monday through Thursday, 7am to 5:30pm, and Friday, 7am to 3:30pm, though hours may vary.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in commercial settings.
• Ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant regulations.
• Test and troubleshoot circuits using appropriate devices to ensure system safety and compatibility.
• Work with and install various sizes of conduit.
• Read and interpret blueprint drawings.
• Lead and mentor apprentices, especially if working as a Lead Mechanic.
• Collaborate effectively with project managers, lead electricians, and other trades.

Essential Skills

• 2-4 years of commercial construction electrical experience or 5+ years for Mechanic Level.
• Proficiency in electrical system installation and maintenance.
• Ability to follow the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Experience with hand and power tools, measuring devices, and testing equipment.
• Familiarity with complex commercial electrical systems, including three-phase power systems.

Work Environment

Work at various job sites, with the ability to adapt to varying temperatures and weather conditions. The schedule is generally Monday through Thursday, 7am to 5:30pm, with variable hours. A positive attitude, reliable transportation, and strong people skills are essential for success in this role.

This is a Contract position based out of Charlottesville, VA.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
