Job Description

As a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in the installation, troubleshooting, and diagnosis of production and process manufacturing equipment onsite. Your expertise will ensure the smooth operation of high-speed packing equipment and other essential machinery.

Responsibilities

• Conduct root cause analysis to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
• Perform both electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks.
• Maintain and repair equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, drive pulleys, and pneumatics/hydraulics.
• Execute machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance services.
• Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
• Prepare and set up machinery for scheduled production runs.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting and repair on various equipment and building maintenance.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Carry out modifications, repairs, and preventative maintenance tasks on existing equipment.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance.
• 3+ years of experience troubleshooting PLCs.
• Proficiency in hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Expertise in root cause analysis, PLCs, drives, VFD, pulleys, and bearings.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• General knowledge of mechanics including gears, motors, bearings, pulleys, belts, and conveyors.
• Understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics for efficient troubleshooting.
• Practical knowledge of precision measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges.
• Ability to safely operate shop tools including cutoff saws, drill press, bench grinder, hydraulic press, band saw, and other hand tools.
• Safety consciousness and team-oriented mindset.
• Attention to detail, cooperative attitude, and sound work ethics.

Work Environment

Work in a loud manufacturing environment that is non-climate controlled but equipped with large fans. The role requires the ability to work 12-hour night rotating shifts. Initial training will be conducted on a day shift from Monday to Friday, 7 am-5 pm, followed by a 6:50 pm-7 am, 2 on-2 off-3 on schedule.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
