Position Description
CGI has an immediate need for an Application Security Advisor to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment supporting one of the largest customers. • This role is located at a client site in Reston, VA. A hybrid working model is acceptable.

Your future duties and responsibilities
We are seeking a skilled Application Security Advisor to join the "Security Coaches and Advisors" program. This hybrid role based in Reston, VA focuses on training developers in secure coding practices and application security. The successful candidate will lead hands-on training cohorts, conduct code reviews, and collaborate with development teams to identify and remediate vulnerabilities. The position plays a critical role in ensuring secure software development and minimizing risk in production environments.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• Solid experience with security tools such as SAST, DAST, and SCA
• Strong grasp of network protocols, encryption, and secure communication
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and secure development frameworks
• Ability to conduct both manual and automated code reviews
• Experience performing threat modeling and risk assessments
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages: Java, Python, JavaScript, C#
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms like GitHub and Jenkins
• Knowledge of container security and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Strong communication skills to explain vulnerabilities and remediation strategies to developers
• Comfortable leading training sessions and working closely with development teams
• Relevant certifications (preferred but not required): CISSP, OSCP, CSSLP, or GIAC
• Minimum of 5 years in application security, software development, or a related cybersecurity role
• Prior experience in training or coaching developers is highly desirable

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $88,200.00 - $137,100.00.
