• Position Type: Locum tenens (Travel ICU RN)
• Location: Roanoke, Virginia 24014
• Unit: Resource Pool ICU/PCU
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (options to extend up to 52 weeks)
• Shift Schedule: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (18:45 - 07:15), 36 hours/week
• Start Date: October 27, 2025
• End Date: January 26, 2026
• Patient Ratios: ICU 2:1, PCU 5:1
• Charting System: EPIC EMR
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2020 - $2070

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Virginia or compact state
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience in a large hospital setting
• BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system
• Skills in arterial line management, ventilator management, central/PICC line care, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, emergency medications, and wound care
• Ability to float between all ICU and PCU units as needed
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Willingness to work at least one holiday per 13-week contract (two for winter holidays)

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care to adult and geriatric populations in ICU and PCU settings
• Float between ICU and PCU units based on hospital staffing needs (may be reassigned every 4 hours)
• Manage complex critical care cases including ventilated patients, cardiac drips, and emergency interventions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using EPIC EMR
• Follow infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
• Participate in hospital orientation and complete required training modules
