A Day in the Role
Your home office is your base. Your territory is your canvas—Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia. You start the week mapping plant visits in your CRM, aligning proposals with revenue and margin goals. By midweek, you’re on-site during a scheduled machine outage, auditing roll conditions and uncovering opportunities for coatings, coverings, core products, and mechanical services. You present value-based solutions, translate findings into detailed reports and quotes, and negotiate next steps. Along the way, you collaborate with leadership on high-priority pursuits, join a trade seminar, and coach a new teammate on selling best practices.
What You’ll Do
- Grow existing relationships and win new business for coatings, coverings, cores, and mechanical services through value-based selling.
- Plan and execute territory coverage across Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia from a home-based setting; travel routinely to customer sites.
- Attend customer accounts during machine outages to conduct roll condition audits; prepare thorough reports, quotations, and solution recommendations, especially for paper, tissue, towel, and flexible packaging applications.
- Identify profitable opportunities; partner with leadership to prioritize and pursue them.
- Develop targeted sales plans, proposals, presentations, contracts, and plant visit strategies to close key accounts.
- Achieve assigned revenue, margin, and expense objectives.
- Keep CRM data current with updates, insights, and strategic next steps.
- Represent American Roller Company at trade shows, seminars, and industry events.
- Support and provide on-the-job training for new sales and customer service colleagues as needed.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related discipline preferred.
- Proven success in technical sales or industrial manufacturing.
- Knowledge of coatings, polymers, or converting applications in paper, tissue, towel, and flexible packaging is a plus.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Self-directed, comfortable with regular regional travel.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary of $100,000 annually plus commission.
- Car allowance and mileage reimbursement via the Motus Program.
