Overview :

Job Title: Network Engineer

Work Location: Herndon, VA

Security Clearance: Top Secret/SCI

Schedule: Full-Time

Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities :

We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Network Engineer. The ideal candidate will have core competences in network engineering and experience configuring and deploying enterprise grade Cisco and Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls within a service provider architecture.

• Perform network equipment installation, cutover, testing, and site acceptance.
• Work with customer personnel to isolate and resolve complex network problems.
• Ensure complete cutover of network functionality.
• Excellent computer knowledge and experience.
• Sound technical experience in assessing network support requirements as well as conducting required administrative tasks required for the projects.
• Highly motivated, self-starter and team player with a high energy level and willingness to aggressively take on responsibility.
• Demonstrated ability to approach job responsibilities with a focus on process improvement.
• Able to work and effectively communicate with all levels of management
• Strong verbal and writing skills
• Unconditional integrity and commitment to achieving goals.

Qualifications:

• Five (5) or more years of experience with enterprise network design, installation, and troubleshooting.
• Three (3) years of experience with MPLS, BGP, OSPF, VLAN, GRE, and VPN design and configuration.
• CCNA or JNCIA-Junos certification required; CCNP or JNCIP-ENT or JNCIP-SP preferred.
• Ability to configure firewalls, security appliances, and implement both IDS and DPI.
• Must be willing to travel up to 60% (both CONUS and OCONUS).
• Excellent customer facing skills.
• Must be able to obtain or verify an active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.

Physical Requirements:

The work is performed in an office environment and is primarily sedentary in nature. The individual will be required to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time and alternate between different stationary positions. The individual must also be able to move about the office at times. This position requires the ability to communicate frequently. This position may occasionally require the ability to ascend stairs, reach, stoop, kneel, lift light to medium objects, view and operate a computer, keyboard, telephone, and other office equipment and to withstand moderate noise and temperatures.

This position does require travel between various customer sites, in addition to travel for business conferences, customer meetings, and other government and/or contractual needs.
