Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary

Dorman Products is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join our team in our 100,000 sq ft facility in Virginia Beach. As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for management of office and warehouse maintenance staff. Facility projects may include large renovations, building repairs, equipment management and general housekeeping. This role is onsite Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Primary Duties

• Provide daily leadership and support by managing daily activities of team members.
• Provide ongoing training, coaching, motivation and corrective discipline to team members.
• Manage and present department metrics, goal setting, etc. to all levels of contributors.
• Develop and achieve department/facility KPIs.
• Create and maintain preventative maintenance schedules for equipment and building systems; work with outside contractors as needed.
• Manage and lead project schedules, timelines, and budgets.
• Maintain and implement safety training and protocols within department.
• Maintain and implement Standard Operating Procedures within department.
• Practice Lean thinking and 5S Methodology; use lean tools (Kaizen events).
• Manage department budget and expense control.
• Direct and open communication with team members and stakeholders to ensure defined expectations are met.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work from mechanical and/or electrical drawings, sketches, manuals, specifications, and written or oral instructions
• Effective communication and leadership skills
• Proven ability in relationship building with all levels of an organization
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Willingness to work overtime and occasionally travel to other sites as needed
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
• Must be familiar with OSHA and other safety requirements
• OSHA 10hr+ certification and Electrical certification is a plus
• Physical Requirement: Capability to lift 50 pounds. Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel, carry items from one building to another, and speak and actively listen. Noise level is usually moderate.

Education / Experience

• B.S. degree (preferred) in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering/Technology
• 3+ years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
