DOW - Technical Writer
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience providing technical writing support for IT or software development programs.
- Experience producing technical, operational, and user documentation.
- Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills.
- Experience working with subject matter experts to translate technical concepts into clear documentation.
- Familiarity with Agile development environments.
- Experience using documentation tools such as Microsoft Word, Visio, SharePoint, or similar platforms.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD CAC and required background investigation
- Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation for DSAID systems and services.
- Produce system documentation including user guides, technical manuals, SOPs, and training materials.
- Document system architectures, workflows, interfaces, and data flows in collaboration with technical teams.
- Support documentation for RMF, cybersecurity, ATO, and compliance artifacts.
- Ensure documentation complies with DoD, DMDC, and DHRA standards and style guides.
- Support Agile development by documenting requirements, user stories, release notes, and changes.
- Maintain configuration-controlled documentation repositories.
- Review and edit documentation for accuracy, clarity, consistency, and completeness.
- Support transition-in and transition-out documentation activities.
- Prepare briefing materials, reports, and presentations for Government stakeholders.
- Ensure documentation supports Privacy Act, records management, and Section 508 requirements.
- Coordinate with Program Managers, Systems Analysts, Developers, QA, and Cybersecurity staff.
