CAD TECHNICIAN / BLUEPRINT CLERK

The Engineering Department at American GFM is seeking qualified candidates for a CAD Technician. Your primary responsibility will be, but not limited to, use and management of Autodesk products: AutoCAD, INVENTOR, and VAULT. 3D modelling and 2D drafting experience is required.

Required Qualifications:

• High-level experience with 3D CAD modelling and 2D drafting. Knowledge and adherence to best 3D modelling principles.
• Knowledge of, materials, machining, GD&T, and welding as it applies to 2D drafting standards.
• Basic knowledge of the components of mechanical systems such as screws, washers, and tube fittings and their proper naming and classification.
• Organized, creative, and eager to learn.
• Power user of PC based programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.
• Must have or be capable of obtaining a US passport.
• Must complete a background check and physical.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working within complex ERP systems.
• Experience with Autodesk features such as custom content center libraries, styles and standards, tubing and piping, iLogic, etc.
• B.S. in relevant field from a 4-year accredited college/university.
• Impeccable written and verbal communication skills.
• Independent, accountable, and capable of working unsupervised.

Responsibilities:

• Support mechanical design engineers by creating 3D models and 2D drawings from scratch using Autodesk INVENTOR and AutoCAD.
• Support and manage ERP catalog system.
• Print and fold large-format paper blueprints.
• Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to urgent issues.
