Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Embrace ITAC’s Core Values in all aspects of the job.
- Provide leadership and oversight for EHS initiatives on various projects.
- Assist in the creation and refinement of Site-Specific EHS Plans that comply with regulatory requirements and ITAC standards.
- Mentor less experienced EHS Coordinators and serve as a key resource for EHS related queries.
- Oversee incident investigations, developing reports and action plans for corrective measures.
- Conduct safety training sessions for project managers and field employees, fostering a culture of safety.
- Evaluate field operations and implement improvements to enhance safety practices and adherence to regulations.
- Conduct routine audits and inspections of projects, ensuring compliance and identifying areas for improvement.
- Perform air quality monitoring, sampling, and analysis as necessary.
- Maintain effective communication with other EHS personnel and project teams to convey safety concerns and solutions.
Requirements
Experience/Education
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in safety coordination or related roles, with a focus on the construction industry
- Strong understanding of OSHA standards and EHS regulations
- Experience in developing and delivering safety training programs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective safety training and reporting
- Proven ability to analyze complex safety incidents and develop effective solutions
- Strong organizational skills with a focus on detail and compliance
- Physically able to perform the duties of the position, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
- Valid Driver's License and the ability to travel to various project sites
Certifications and Training Qualifications - Preferred / Desired
- OSHA 500 Certification – Outreach trainer
- CPR and First Aid certifications
- CHST – Certified Safety & Health Technician
- CSP – Certified Safety Professional
- Other relevant EHS certifications
