Accounts Receivable and Customer Service Clerk

As an Accounts Receivable and Customer Service Clerk, you will play a key role in maintaining financial records, processing customer payments, and supporting both internal teams and external customers. This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with sales, accounting, and operations, ensuring smooth financial transactions and a positive customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Accurately post customer payments and track outstanding invoices and debits, ensuring compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
- Reconcile customer accounts by communicating with the sales team and customer accounts payable personnel to resolve discrepancies.
- Generate daily sales reports for the plant and assist with monthly closings to ensure timely financial reporting.
- Review and verify pricing on customer purchase orders, generate work procedures for new orders, and prepare Certificates of Conformance as required.
- Maintain and update sales quotes, enter new pricing, and ensure database accuracy for both new and existing work.
- Prepare and print accounts receivable reports, analyze accounts, and maintain organized accounts receivable files.
- Assist with accounts payable tasks, such as preparing checks, and participate in special projects as assigned.
- Support reception services by greeting and assisting customers, answering phones, and directing calls and inquiries professionally.
Qualifications
- Education and experience equivalent to an associate’s degree in a related field, with some relevant work experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to quickly learn new accounting and business software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to read and interpret documentation such as safety rules and work process instructions.
- Ability to follow instructions, accept feedback, contribute ideas, and work effectively as part of a team.
