sit down forklift operator/ material handler
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sit Down Forklift Operator/Material Handler to join our team in Richmond, VA (23231). In this role, you will play a crucial part in our operations by efficiently moving materials and ensuring that our warehouse runs smoothly. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have a knack for operating forklifts, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities
- Operate sit-down forklifts to transport materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload shipments, ensuring accuracy and safety.
- Maintain inventory by tracking materials and reporting discrepancies.
- Assist with organizing and storing materials in designated areas.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on forklifts and report any issues.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating sit-down forklifts.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical tasks.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer skills for inventory management.
