Tasting Room Associate

Job Description:

Fleetwood Farm Winery is seeking a polished, hospitality-driven Tasting Room Associate to join our team. This role is essential in delivering an elevated guest experience through exceptional customer service, engaging wine education, and genuine hospitality. The ideal candidate is passionate about wine and enjoys creating memorable experiences for guests in a refined yet welcoming environment.

A strong knowledge of wine, previous winery or tasting room experience, or a background in wine-focused hospitality is highly preferred. Candidates who can confidently speak about wine varietals, tasting profiles, food pairings, and the winery experience will thrive in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
Greet and engage guests with warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm.
Engage guests in meaningful wine conversations by comparing wines, discussing tasting profiles and preferences, and providing thoughtful recommendations while educating guests on Fleetwood Farm Winery wines, vineyard history, and winemaking philosophy through our self-guided tasting experience and tasting notes.
Provide thoughtful wine recommendations and assist guests with wine purchases and selections.
Promote wine club memberships, winery events, and featured offerings.
Deliver a high standard of hospitality while creating a relaxed, memorable, and elevated tasting experience.
Oversee and help direct bar backs to ensure smooth daily tasting room operations and exceptional guest service.
Assist with opening and proper closing procedures of the winery and tasting room.
Handle sales transactions accurately, including operating the POS system and processing payments.
Maintain cleanliness, presentation, and organization of the tasting room, bar areas, and guest spaces.
Assist with restocking wine, merchandise, glassware, and supplies while supporting overall tasting room operations.
Ensure compliance with all alcohol service laws, safety standards, and winery policies.

Qualifications & Requirements:
Previous winery, tasting room, wine bar, restaurant, or hospitality experience strongly preferred.
Strong wine knowledge or formal wine education is highly desirable.
Passion for wine, hospitality, and guest engagement.
Ability to confidently communicate wine information and create an educational yet approachable tasting experience.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
Professional, polished, and team-oriented demeanor.
Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 30 lbs as needed.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Availability to work weekends, holidays, winery events, and evenings is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working in a winery or luxury hospitality environment.
Wine certifications such as WSET, CMS, or equivalent are a plus.
Experience with wine club sales, event support, or direct-to-consumer hospitality preferred.
Familiarity with POS systems and winery reservation platforms is a plus.
