Accountant
Kforce has a client in Williamsburg, VA that is seeking an Accountant. Key Responsibilities: Accounts Payable (AP):
- Process high-volume invoices, ensuring accuracy, proper coding, and timely approval
- Execute payment runs (checks, ACH, wires) in accordance with company policies
- Maintain vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Monitor aging reports to ensure timely payments and avoid disruptions
- Assist with expense report processing and compliance
- Generate and distribute customer invoices based on contracts or services rendered
- Post and apply cash receipts accurately and timely
- Monitor AR aging and follow up on outstanding balances
- Partner with internal teams and clients to resolve billing issues
- Maintain accurate customer account records
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Reconcile AP and AR sub-ledgers and investigate discrepancies
- Support reporting needs related to payables and receivables activity
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and procedures
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and external stakeholders
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within AP/AR workflows
- Deltek Costpoint experience
- AP and AR experience
- To be considered for this position, candidates must have experience in a similar role, or they must possess significant knowledge, experience, and abilities to successfully perform the responsibilities listed
- Relevant education and/or training will be considered a plus
