Dynatrace Observability Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Dynatrace Observability Engineer for a Contract with a client in McLean, VA. The ideal candidates will drive full‑stack observability by designing, implementing, and optimizing Dynatrace monitoring across hybrid and cloud environments.

Rate Range: $80/hour to $83/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Dynatrace Observability Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Own and administer the Dynatrace platform (SaaS/Managed), including upgrades, governance, integrations, and environment configurations.

• Deploy and manage OneAgents/ActiveGates across cloud, on‑prem, and Kubernetes/OpenShift; define tagging rules, management zones, dashboards, and alerts.

• Implement end‑to‑end observability for apps, APIs, infrastructure, logs, synthetics, RUM, and distributed tracing aligned to SLOs/SLIs.

• Drive performance and reliability engineering—analyze latency/bottlenecks with Davis AI, lead root‑cause analysis, and partner with teams for remediation.

• Automate instrumentation and configurations using Python/Bash/PowerShell, Monaco/Terraform, and integrate with CI/CD, ITSM, and logging/event tools.

• Lead incident observability and reporting—provide insights during major incidents, deliver trend reports, and champion best practices as the SME.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

• 10+ years of hands‑on experience in observability, APM engineering, or Dynatrace platform administration.

• Expert-level proficiency with Dynatrace (APM, Infrastructure Monitoring, RUM, Davis AI) in enterprise or multi‑cloud environments.

• Strong experience with cloud platforms and automation, including AWS/Azure/GCP, Kubernetes, and scripting tools (Python, Bash, PowerShell).

Pay Details: $80.00 to $83.00 per hour
