A day in the life

By mid-morning, a new batch of artwork lands in your queue. You open each file, scan for subtle color shifts and crooked elements, and make sure every specification aligns with production needs. Once everything checks out, you convert approved art into press-ready assets and create the plates that bring it to life on the press floor. Throughout the day, you keep files tidy in the production system, document what changed and why, and coordinate with teammates and clients whenever something needs clarification. Before the day is over, you’ve juggled multiple jobs, double-checked color separations and layouts, and helped troubleshoot a tricky prepress question so production can run smoothly.

What you’ll handle

• Prepare and create printing plates directly from digital artwork
• Review artwork and proofs to confirm color accuracy and overall print quality
• Upload, save, and systematically organize digital print files in the production system
• Verify files are formatted correctly and truly press-ready
• Communicate clearly with clients and internal teams when artwork needs clarification
• Run quality checks on color separations, layouts, and print files
• Maintain orderly file storage and complete job documentation
• Independently manage multiple jobs and deadlines
• Assist with prepress troubleshooting as needed by the production team
