Senior Software Engineer (S)
SimIS, Inc. seeks Senior Software Engineers to lead software development for simulation systems, mentor junior developers, and oversee complex software integration projects. This position involves developing and maintaining software for training simulation systems including scenario development tools and system interfaces. The candidate performs the following specific assignments:
- Eight (8) years of software development experience with leadership responsibilities
- Experience with simulation software development and real-time systems
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages including C++, Java, Python, C# (.NET) and other scripting languages
- Experience with software integration, testing, and deployment in complex environments
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies
- Familiarity with U.S. Navy military training systems and combat system simulations
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- Mandatory: Must meet DOD 8570 requirements for Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with military simulation protocols and standards
- SECRET clearance
- Preferred: Master's degree
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira)
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams
- Experience with government reporting requirements and CDRL deliverables
- Experience with DoD acquisition processes
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Experience with NSWCDD or Navy programs
