Overview:
Our client is seeking two experienced Mortgage Closing Specialists to support the issuance of Closing Disclosures (CDs). This position acts as a liaison to gather and validate information necessary for timely and accurate loan closings, with a focus on collaboration, pipeline management, and attention to compliance and detail.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assign pipeline reporting to title reviewers, review reports, and manage the title review inbox
- Maintain effective communication with all involved parties including borrowers, brokers, settlement agents, loan officers, post-closing teams, and others to ensure a seamless closing process
- Work with internal departments and external entities to obtain closing-related documentation (e.g., payoffs, subordinations, releases, tax documents, title, homeowners and flood insurance )
- Perform thorough and accurate file reviews to ensure compliance with State and Federal guidelines
- Obtain verbal verification of employment for all income-qualified borrowers
- Follow up on rate lock expirations and document expirations
- Ensure the system of record is up to date and accurate to support CD preparation
- Contact settlement agents proactively to collect necessary fees and contact info for CD generation
- Monitor and evaluate closing timelines to ensure target close dates are met, and escalate delays appropriately
- Adhere to all applicable compliance and operational risk controls
- Support audits by upholding internal control standards and responding to external regulator requests
- Foster a collaborative environment that supports diversity and inclusion
- Complete other related duties as assigned
Must-Have Skills:
- Experience preparing Closing Disclosures (CDs)
- Experience preparing Closing Packages
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Familiarity with mortgage processes and customer-facing coordination
Preferred Experience:
- Experience using the Encompass loan origination system
- Prior mortgage closing experience at a lender, title company, or settlement agents office
- Knowledge of product, investor, and compliance requirements
Education & Background Requirements:
- Associates degree plus 1+ year of business experience
OR
3+ years of combined higher education and/or work experience, including mortgage closing or customer service - Strong PC skills including spreadsheets, word processing, and email
- High attention to detail, reliability, and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Comfortable adapting to changes in workflow, policy, or regulatory guidelines
- Team-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills
