We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join a team in Chantilly, Virginia in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This position focuses on end-to-end receivables support, including invoice preparation, payment activity tracking, and maintaining accurate financial records across multiple systems. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, experience working with billing documentation, and the ability to collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to keep accounts current and accurate.
Responsibilities:• Manage the full accounts receivable cycle from invoice setup through payment posting and account reconciliation.
• Review signed agreements and supporting records to confirm billing details, pricing, and amounts before invoices are issued.
• Prepare and distribute customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner based on approved documentation.
• Partner with sales representatives and project managers to resolve billing updates, document revisions, and account discrepancies.
• Maintain and update Excel workbooks used to track receivables activity, invoice status, and related account details.
• Record receivables transactions and post billing activity within D365 and Business Central to support accurate financial reporting.
• Apply cash receipts and monitor payment activity to ensure customer accounts reflect current balances.
• Support commercial collections efforts by following up on outstanding invoices and helping resolve payment issues.• At least 2 years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or a closely related accounting function.
• Hands-on experience managing invoicing, cash application, and commercial collections activities.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including maintaining tracking spreadsheets and reconciling financial data.
• Ability to verify billing information against contracts or other source documents with a high degree of accuracy.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with sales and project management teams.
• Detail-oriented approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities in an in-office Monday through Friday environment.
