Microsoft Cloud Architect - Herndon, VA

Herndon, VA, 5 days onsite need local candidates

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Microsoft Cloud Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of Microsoft 365 cloud solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of enterprise-level cloud architecture, Zero Trust security frameworks, and modern workplace technologies. This is a 100% onsite role in Herndon, VA , requiring candidates who are local or willing to relocate.

Cloud Architecture Design & Implementation

• Architect and deploy Microsoft 365 solutions aligned with enterprise IT strategies.

• Design secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure solutions.

• Integrate Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), Active Directory Connect, and Identity & Access Management (IAM) principles.

Modern Device Management

• Deploy and manage Microsoft Intune for Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Mobile Application Management (MAM).

• Support secure device configuration and application deployment.

Collaboration & Governance

• Govern and optimize usage of SharePoint Online , Microsoft Teams , and OneDrive .

• Develop policies and best practices to enhance collaboration while ensuring compliance.

Security & Compliance

• Implement Zero Trust Security framework with a focus on:

  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

  • Conditional Access Policies

  • Data Loss Prevention (DLP)

• Deploy and manage Microsoft Defender for Office 365 for advanced threat protection.

Project Management & Roadmapping

• Lead cloud modernization initiatives and technical planning.

• Develop project roadmaps, timelines, and milestone charts.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to align project goals with business objectives.

Change Management & User Adoption

• Drive successful adoption of Microsoft 365 solutions.

• Lead communication and training initiatives to support organizational change.

• Required Qualifications

  • 12+ years of IT experience with at least 5+ years in Microsoft 365 architecture.

  • Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Teams.

  • Deep understanding of security concepts such as Zero Trust, DLP, Conditional Access, and MFA.

  • Experience with enterprise-level change management and user adoption strategies.

  • Proven track record of leading cloud transformation projects.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, Security Administrator Associate).

  • Experience working in regulated environments or public sector.

  Note: This is a full-time, onsite role requiring candidates to work 5 days a week from the Herndon, VA office. Only local candidates or those willing to relocate will be considered.
