  • Walk the facility periodically to engage with employees, respond to questions, assess the environment and surface issues proactively.
  • Advise supervisors on labor law compliance, company policy and procedure, and coach them on HR related processes.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation, training programs, annual performance reviews (in collaboration with corporate HR), and exit interviews; recommend retention strategies and improvements to the employee experience.
  • Educate employees about benefits year round and during open enrolment; ensure required labor law posters and company materials are displayed and current.

Must Haves as the HR Employee Relations Specialist:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration or related field.
  • At least 2 years' relevant experience in employee relations or a closely related HR role, preferably in manufacturing, construction, engineering or field operations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, excellent organization and attention to detail.
  • Able to exercise sound judgement, maintain confidentiality, and thrive in a dynamic, fast paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams and Outlook, and comfortable using PCs, tablets and smartphones.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 50% of the time.

Nice to Haves as the HR Employee Relations Specialist:

  • Prior HR experience in a manufacturing or modular construction environment.
  • Experience coaching supervisors, leading HR training, or driving retention/engagement initiatives in a multi craft or cross functional workforce.
  • Familiarity with unionized environments or large scale site operations.

Our Client Offers:

  • Competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance.
  • Paid time off, tuition reimbursement and a 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Opportunity to join a high growth manufacturing campus working in a strategic HR role with exposure to senior leadership and a diverse workforce.
  • A workplace culture that values innovation, empowerment and long term career growth.
