About This Role
The Teacher Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Teachers and the Director in creating a nurturing and secure environment for the children, while also contributing to the development of high-quality educational programs.
What You'll Do- Support the implementation of curricula activities and foster a culture of active participation among children.
- Participate in activities, maintain classroom organization, and ensure the availability of necessary materials.
- Engage in regular, informal discussions and provide progress reports to parents to keep them informed.
- Model healthy habits and encourage self-care and good hygiene among children.
- Ensure a smooth transition from home to the child care center on a daily basis.
- Adhere to all center policies and state regulations.
- Develop a personal professional development plan to continuously improve the quality of care and education.
- Operate a 14-passenger van or short bus.
- At least 1-2 years of professional child care experience.
- A high level of energy and enthusiasm.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong communication and basic computer skills, with the ability to express oneself clearly in writing.
- An understanding of child development and growth.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Pass a thorough background check and meet health screening requirements.
- A valid Virginia Driver's License.
