• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,800–$1,890/week
• Setting: 12-bed Intermediate Care Unit (6 North) – Cardiac Stepdown / Telemetry
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (March 30, 2026 – June 29, 2026)
• Shift: Night Shift – 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), every other weekend and holiday
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1:3 (stepdown / intermediate care)
• Time Off: Up to 40 hours pre-approved per contract

Required Qualifications (Cardiac / Stepdown RN)

• Minimum 2 years recent stepdown, telemetry, or intermediate care RN experience (Cardiac RN experience preferred)
• Active Registered Nurse license (Virginia or compact). Pending accepted with license in hand prior to start
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Epic EMR/charting experience required
• BSN preferred
• References required
• Must adhere to facility float policy within scope of practice
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for patients recovering from neuro trauma, cardiac events, and post-operative procedures in an intermediate care / stepdown setting
• Monitor and manage telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond to cardiac changes
• Care for patients with lumbar drains, arterial lines, surgical drains, tracheostomies, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula
• Administer medications, manage IV insulin protocols, and titrate drips as indicated
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, IV therapy, physical therapy, and pharmacy
• Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR and ensure timely communication during handoffs
• Float to similar units as needed per facility policy
