Position Summary

Avum is seeking a motivated Information Assurance/Security Specialist to protect information systems and data by developing, assessing, and enforcing security policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Determines enterprise information assurance and security standards.
• Develops and implements information assurance/security standards and procedures.
• Coordinates, develops, and evaluates security programs for an organization.
• Recommends information assurance/security solutions to support customers' requirements.
• Identifies, reports, and resolves security violations.
• Supports customers at the highest levels in the development and implementation of doctrine and policies.
• Applies know-how to government and commercial common user systems, as well as to dedicated special purpose systems requiring specialized security features and procedures.
• Performs analysis, design, and development of security features for system architectures.
• Analyzes and defines security requirements for computer systems which may include mainframes, workstations, and personal computers.
• Designs, develops, engineers, and implements solutions that meet security requirements.
• Provides integration and implementation of the computer system security solution.
• Analyzes general information assurance-related technical problems and provides basic engineering and technical support in solving these problems.
• Performs vulnerability/risk analyses of computer systems and applications during all phases of the system development life cycle. Ensures that all information systems are functional and secure.

Required Qualifications

• US Citizenship with active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required.
• Ability to be onsite 100% in Chantilly, VA in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF).
• 3+ years of experience with cybersecurity or information security governance.
• 3+ years of experience with NIST, RMF, and FISMA frameworks.
• 5+ years of experience with Cyber Security Auditing in the Federal space.
• Experience conducting technology and cybersecurity risk assessments and creating risk profiles.
• Active security certifications: Security + or DoD IAT Level 11.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to or experience with Appian-based systems.
• Familiarity with automated testing tools or frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cucumber).
• Knowledge of federal procurement or interest in developing expertise.
• Appian Associate Developer Certification or relevant coursework.
• ISTQB Certification or similar a plus.
• Experience with CI/CD environments and tools like Jenkins or GitLab.
• Performance testing experience using JMeter or similar tools.
• DAWIA Test and Evaluation (T&E) Certification.

Location

This role is a 100% onsite in Chantilly, VA.
