USAM DC is seeking a Floor Associate to assist with shop/suite cleaning and basic maintenance.
- Empty trash and recycling bins daily throughout the shop floor, receiving area, restrooms, and break rooms.
- Sweep the shop and receiving area floors daily to maintain cleanliness.
- Walk the parking lot and property grounds to collect and dispose of any debris.
- Check and restock restroom paper products and soap dispensers, as needed.
- Inspect dust collectors daily; remove and replace full dust bags and complete the dust bag log accordingly.
- Coordinate with Shipping, Receiving and Production Supervisors to keep shop carts free of trash and extra materials.
- Stage all empty carts in the machining area each day.
- Operate a forklift as needed to dump trash bins, dispose of dust bags, and empty dust hoppers. Also, to assist with loading/offloading materials from trucks and moving materials in the receiving area.
- Occasionally operate a company pickup truck to pick up/drop off materials or supplies at local vendors or stores.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Plant Manager.
Preferred Education and Skills (in addition to the required):
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Drivers License
- Background in construction or manufacturing
- Forklift certified or able to be certified is a plus.
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and customers
- Dependable and hardworking

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. - While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in a typical warehouse environment and occasionally works on or near the shop floor where there may be moving mechanical parts with occasional exposure to the risk of electrical shock, outdoor weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise levels in the work environment are usually moderate and occasionally high.
