Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Location: Richmond, VA 23298 (Virginia healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Length: 26 weeks (September 29, 2025 – March 30, 2026)
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2360 - $2420
• Setting: Hospital-based, Respiratory Care Services, Flight Team (Peds/NICU)
• Unit accepts first-time travelers

Registered Respiratory Therapist Qualifications

• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• Current Virginia or compact state respiratory therapist license (must be in hand at submission)
• Minimum 1 year of relevant clinical experience (ER and ICU experience required)
• Level 4 NICU and flight transport experience required
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS (American Heart Association preferred)
• EPIC charting experience required; Cerner experience preferred
• Must not exceed 235 lbs in street clothes (flight safety requirement)
• Ability to float within scope of practice as needed
• 2 professional references required
• BSN preferred

Registered Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced respiratory care for pediatric and neonatal patients during air and internal hospital transport
• Perform airway management, medication administration, ventilator management, ABG analysis, oxygen therapy, suctioning, pulmonary toileting, and nebulizer treatments
• Operate and troubleshoot advanced respiratory equipment, including Servo I ventilators and Puritan Bennett ventilators
• Participate in trach care and internal patient transports
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC and Cerner electronic health records
• Comply with hospital policies, including natural nail policy and fingerprinting requirements for ER and Psych candidates
